John Krasinski appeared in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
John Krasinski starred as Reed Richards in 2022's Multiverse of Madness as Reed Richards, giving fans an idea of what one of the most popular fan characters would look like. Still, Krasinski said he hasn't talked about anything about the return.
At his most recent press conference for the upcoming Jack Ryan's third quarter, TheWrap asked Krasinski about the possibility of his return to the MCU as an iconic member of the Fantastic Four. According to Krasinski, he didn't have any discussion about it, but did enjoy his time in the role.
Second-to-last week of Jack Ryan,” Krasinski said
There wasn't any discussion at all, and my only discussion was actually in Jack Ryan's penultimate week," Krasinski said. "Kevin Feige called and said, 'Would you like to fly to Los Angeles and play in our sandbox for a day?' I'm honored to do that. When we finished and headed straight to the Doctor Strange set, I flew straight out of Budapest. I'm a big fan of all these characters and that world, so it's so exciting to be able to play in that sandbox for a day.
Krasinski appears in the Doctor Strange sequel as a variant of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic – a person who exists in a different universe. While his appearance was praised by fans, that version of the character soon ended as Scarlet Witch quickly killed him and the other Illuminati.
It's unclear if Krasinski will return to play the more mature version of Richards, though the Fantastic Four movie is currently in the works, with Matt Shakman directing the film.
