Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot cameo cut from The Flash

THR reports that the upcoming DC Studios film The Flash in 2023 will no longer include cameos by Henry Cavill Superman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.

While they have already been filmed, cameos in the superhero film led by Ezra Miller have been cut six months before the film's release date. This is another step toward the end of the pre-DC Extended Universe, making way for the new DC Universe created by DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran.

The news came shortly after Cavill announced he would no longer be playing Superman in future projects after he had a conversation with Gunn about the future of DC film adaptations — a powerful sign of DC Studios' commitment to a massive overhaul.

Jason Momoa may leave Aquaman to play Lubo, and Patty Jenkins' version of Wonder Woman 3 is no longer moving forward, and it seems that the DC extended universe that began with 2013's Iron Man is coming to an end.
